 About the instructor

Dr. Huang serves in Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as mentor of doctoral students. Dr. Huang has been working in classic formulas and herbs as a professor, practitioner and researcher for decades.

About the class

In this seminar, Dr. Huang will talk about abundant classic formulas mainly from Shang Han Lun and Jin Gui Yao lue, the herbs' nature and functions, and formulas' indications. He will explain the formula usage based on classical theories and modern modification.

About the instructor

Yangdron is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, as well as a Doctor of Tibetan Medicine (in Tbetan: Menpa). She has been practicing Tibetan Medicine for over 20 years and she founded Kunde Institute in Daly City, California since 2005. 

About the class

The classes will focus on causes and conditional causes of illness. The lecture will cover immediate causation of illness in Tibetan Medicine--four factors, risk causes / factors of illnesses, signs and symptoms / patterns of imbalances of the 3 Nyepas, four categories of illnesses or diseases, three fundamental concepts of Tibetan Medicinal herbology and pharmacology.

About the instructor

Robert Yao is a professor of Five Branches University and a visiting professor of International Jinfang Institute, Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. He did his apprenticeship training under Professor Huang Huang’s direct guidance. He is also one of a few certified apprentices of Professor Wang Qi, a National Grand Master of TCM in China.

This course will comprehensively discuss about classic formulas from perspectives of constitution named herbs, the descriptions from Shang Han Lun, Jin Gui Yao Lue and Prof. Huang Huang, and from the western medicine considerations.

About the instructor

Dr. Lichun Huang is recognized as the world’s leading expert in the field of Auricular Medicine. She has received numerous awards, including the Recognition of Mastery and Lifetime Achievement Award at the World International Symposium on Auricular Therapy and Auricular Medicine. She was also recognized by the president of Italy for treatments she gave to him during his visit to China. Additionally, she received the Friendship and Struggle Award from Cuba’s president for leading a delegation of Chinese acupuncturists in teaching auricular medicine to Cuban doctors.

Dr. Huang worked for over 35 years in a Beijing’s premier hospital, the 301 Military Hospital, prior to coming to the United States. She was the Chief of the Acupuncture Department for more than ten years in that hospital.
