About the class

Acupuncture points each have a name, a history, and a particular meaning and energy. This course examines the name of the point, its relationship to the elements, to the official (organ system), its location and its relation to the overall context of the patient. Class includes discussion, meditation, art and poetry.

Students will gain a deeper and more personal knowledge of, and relationship to the energetics of particular meridian points. They will increase their skills in choosing points which will support the patient ‘s energetic constitution and their psycho/spiritual well being.

About the instructor

Tala is a long-time practitioner of Five-Element Acupuncture. With a degree in microbiology/chemistry, Tala spent many years in western laboratory medicine. Loving the technical challenges but missing the deep human connection she was drawn to eastern ideas of healing. She completed her Masters in Five-Element Acupuncture at the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia MD in 1983. She continues to study, deepening into the five-element tradition, as well as embracing other valuable approaches. In her teaching, she guides students towards energetic, emotional, and mental self-discovery; assisting them in developing a deeper, more personal relationship to the movement of energy as expressed in the pulses, emotions, symptoms, and physical structure.

This course can be taken out of sequence.  Five Element training preferred, but not essential.
