Medical Qigong
Medical Qigong Certificate Programs
Five Branches University is the first accredited acupuncture school in the U.S to pioneer a comprehensive Medical Qigong (also known as Qi Gong, Chi Gong, Chi Kung) Certification Program. Our Medical Qigong Program offers two sequential Medical Qigong Certifications: Self Cultivation and Medical Qigong Practitioner (M.Q.P).
Self Cultivation Certification:
The Self Cultivation Certificate is a two course qigong training program designed to enhance awareness of energy within and around oneself. Students learn esoteric Medical Qigong terminology, energetic anatomy and physiology and how external and internal pathogenic factors can affect health. Dynamic instructor guidance with purifying qigong exercises, energizing standing meditations and exploration into the nuances of Qi offer detailed structure on how to practice Medical Qigong exercises for personal health benefits.
Our Self Cultivation Certification Program is now open to the public! No Pre-requisites, beginners are welcome!
Required Courses:
Medical Qigong I:
In Medical Qigong I, students are led through a progressive series of Qigong( Energy Skill) meditations and exercises. Students experience basic applications of Medical Qigong purgation, tonification, and regulation energetic skills. Each class includes lecture and personal application of energetic medicine. Students are taught to recognize specific Medical Qigong prescription exercises and meditations, (purging excess conditions, tonifying deficiencies, dispersing stagnations and regulating Qi, Blood and Body Fluid), and learn how and when to apply them in clinic. Students are introduced to energetic psychology, discharging toxic emotions, and how to handle the emotional discharges and toxic energetic releases coming from their patients.
Medical Qigong II:
In Medical Qigong II, students are led through a progressive series of advanced Shengong (Spirit Skill) meditations and exercises. These exercises and meditations are specifically used for developing advanced intuitive diagnostic skills. Students are taught how to establish proper energetic boundaries, and neutralize specific psycho/emotional interactions such as, projection, transference, and counter-transference. Upon completion of this course, students are prepared to participate in the Medical Qigong clinical training and assist the instructor with performing treatment protocols.
Medical Qigong Practitioner Certification (M.Q.P.)
The Medical Qigong Practitioner Certificate is a 200 hour Medical Qigong training program which includes clinical training under the supervision of licensed acupuncturist specializing in Medical Qigong. The M.Q.P. is designed to integrate the self-cultivation skills and apply them in the realm of qi emission. To convey proven ancient medical energetic healing arts, Daoist and Buddhist meditations, qigong training exercises are implemented within curriculum. Students become familiar with the use of qi and how it can be used to augment Traditional Chinese Medicine modalites: acupuncture, tui na, moxa, gua sha within a clinical setting.
Students will be able to apply the medical qigong exercises and healing sounds for specific health needs. Final exams include written, examinations plus clinical competencies.
