Dr. Ma is the Physician Director of the Center for Treatment and Prevention of Diabetes at the 2nd Teaching Hospital of the Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in Hangzhou, China. Dr. Ma is especially experienced in the prevention and treatment of diabetes using integrative TCM and Western medicine methods. In recent years, he has been devoted to the early intervention of diabetes using TCM; and research on the prevention and treatment of angiopathy, caused by diabetes.



Together with the Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, College of Information Technology, he built up a Comprehensive Information Management System for diabetes patients. This is a support group for diabetes patients with almost 1,000 members. Dr. Ma is also responsible for establishing the “Community Project for Integrative Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes”. This project has provided numerous healthcare providers with education and training in the prevention and treatment of diabetes. This project has won praises from community hospitals and medical administration departments for promoting public awareness in the prevention & treatment of diabetes.

Patients are required to make payment of $45 with a credit card, or deliver cash to the clinic to secure an appointment. This is to prevent schedule lapses in this doctoral grand rounds clinic setting.


  Dr. Jiao Offers Head Acupuncture at the San Jose Health Center

During the Month of December, 2008 Dr. Jiao will be offering Head Acupuncture treatments at the Five Branches San Jose Health Center, according to the following schedule:



December 9-20, Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30am-1:30 pm



December 23 &24, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30am-1:30 pm



December 30-31, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30am-1:30 pm



Dr Jiao has specialized in the field of TCM Neurology for over 40 years, treating conditions such as, stroke, paralysis, cerebrovascular diseases, head and brain injuries, cerebral palsy, motor dysfunction, autism, meningitis and cephalitis. In 1970, he invented “Head Acupuncture,” developed to effectively treat patients with neuromuscular diseases. Because of Head Acupuncture’s tremendous benefits for stroke patients, Dr. Jiao’s invention soon became an international phenomenon, gaining recognition from the China National Awards of Excellence, the World Health Organization and the United Nations.



Dr. Jiao has published more than 10 famous text books, such as: “Scalp Acupuncture”, “Treating Cerebrovascular Diseases with Carotid Instillation”, “Correct Methods of Chinese Acupuncture”, “The Soul of Chinese Acupuncture”, “Principles of Acupuncture and Clinical Practices”, and “Treating Diseases with Acupuncture”. These books show Professor Jiao’s discoveries and experiences concerning Aphasia, Paralysis and Numbness caused by Cerebrovascular diseases, Head and Brain injuries, Meningitis and Cephalitis.



Dr. Jiao currently serves as a Practitioner in the Five Branches San Jose Health Center and as a Chief Physician and Professor in Beijing. He is the President of the Acupuncture Association in Shanxi Province and a Standing Committee Member of the National Acupuncture Association in China.
