Programs run pay-per-term and trimester-based, with part-time and online/hybrid options, so many career-changers keep working while completing prerequisite coursework (six courses: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Psychology) at an accredited community college. That alone removes the biggest feared cost of switching careers — four years of forgone income — since it doesn't have to happen all at once.
Try one class first. Non-Degree-Seeking (NDS) enrollment lets you take up to 30% of a program without committing to the full degree, and the credits can typically carry forward if you later decide to enroll. It's a legitimate way to test fit before resigning anything.
