Insurance and Rates (SC)

Insurance and Rates Santa Cruz

The Santa Cruz Clinic is a university teaching facility and a provider of quality healthcare for the Santa Cruz and Bay Area communities. Patients can make private appointments with a practitioner or receive patient care in our teaching clinic at a reduced rate. 

We accept cash, checks, and credit cards for payment. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. No fee will be charged if 24-hour notice is given, otherwise there is a $20 cancellation fee.

Discounts

We offer the following discounts to individuals who pay in full at the time of treatment:

10% discount for seniors (65+)
10% discount for college students (please bring ID)
$10 discount for eligible Medi-Cal patients (please bring ID)

Insurance

We accept Private Insurance (PPO plans), Worker’s Compensation, and Personal Injury Insurance. Rates include a $10 insurance processing fee for each individual visit billed. Download the Insurance Verification Form or request the form from clinic staff when you arrive for your appointment. If you prefer to bill your own insurance, we can provide a statement for you.

Massage, Facial Acupuncture, and Weight Management Acupuncture are rarely covered by insurance. If you wish to have us bill your insurance for these treatments, please have this cleared by your insurance company in advance.

FSA and HAS Reimbursement

You can use your Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) for acupuncture treatments. We provide statements for FSA and HSA reimbursements upon request.

Medi-Cal Insurance

Medi-Cal is available for Central Coast Alliance members only. Medi-Cal is accepted for Intern and Intern Rounds appointments for eligible patients under 21, and for qualifying pre-natal care.

Private Appointment Rates

We offer private appointments with our licensed Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners and massage therapists. Rates are based on the practitioner’s years of experience (5-40 yrs.).

Teaching Clinic Rates

Teaching clinic appointments are provided by highly skilled faculty supervisors or student interns under the direct supervision of a faculty supervisor.
